Dell Curry had an illustrious career, playing for five teams over 16 seasons, while Stephen Curry has become a legend in his own right, holding the current record for most three-pointers ever scored in an NBA career. In recent years, nepotism within the NBA has been a hot topic. Between two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother Thanasis getting a contract with his brother’s team, the Milwaukee Bucks, in 2019, to fans questioning whether LeBron James’ eldest son Bronny deserves to be put on the roster for Los Angeles Lakers in 2024, audiences are becoming increasingly critical about players being given advantages that are not based on merit.
This, however, does not seem to be a concern for the Curry men. Despite his father and brother’s success, Seth has managed to prove that he’s rightfully earned a place in the league.

Seth Curry, who played at Duke University for the Duke Blue Devils, had a successful NCAA run, but after graduating in 2013, went undrafted. Later that year, he was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G League, the sport’s development league.
Since then, Curry has been traded frequently. Unlike his brother, who’s played for the Golden State Warriors his entire career, Seth has played for a handful of teams in both the West Coast and East Coast conferences, even landing with the Dallas Mavericks three times: in the 2016-2018 season, then 2019-2020, and again in the 2023-2024 season. He currently plays for the Charlotte Hornets.

We’ve already mentioned his dad and elder brother, but Seth is also married to sporting royalty: his wife is professional volleyball coach Callie Rivers, the daughter of NBA coach Doc Rivers. Callie’s brother Austin was Seth’s former teammate at Duke. Curry and Rivers share three children.
Like Rivers, the Curry brothers’ younger sister, Sydel, was a volleyball player at university. She’s married to NBA player Damion Lee of the Phoenix Suns.

A tight-knit family
The Curry children are famously close to their parents. Stephen Curry has credited their mother Sonya for giving him his toughness and grit, per People. And when Sonya launched her book Fierce Love in 2022, a proud Seth took to his social media account to promote it.

Despite playing for different teams, Stephen and Seth Curry have a supportive relationship on and off the court. “Learning from Steph, being able to ask him questions, following his journey,” Seth told Stephen Curry’s teammate Draymond Green on the latter’s podcast in 2023. “I got a guy who has been through a lot of the grinds and I can pick his brain … being able to ask him questions, following his journey.”
And Stephen admitted to rooting for his brother, even when it would hurt his own chances, before the teams competed in the 2019 Western Conference Finals, per People.

How much is Seth Curry making?
Seth Curry is currently on a contract with the Charlotte Hornets worth over US$3 million. He also makes an income through his collaborations with brands including Asus and luxury department store Neiman Marcus, and has launched a range of wines with the Momtazi Vineyard in Oregon.
It may be unfair to compare, but his brother Stephen, a two-time MVP and four-time championship winner, is currently on a one-year extension of his contract with Golden State Warriors worth US$62.6 million, and has brand deals with Nissan’s luxury division Infiniti and sportswear brand Under Armour, adding even more to his bank account.
